NCLEX Tips

NCLEX Study Calendar (FREE)

Good morning! It is a busy week for us. We have two students taking (and passing) their NCLEX this week. I just wanted to share a couple of things with you.

I tutor quite a few students that have failed the NCLEX test several times. One of the things we do is figure out why they failed it, so we can work with them to make this time the last time they have to take the test.

When you take the test you have to know the content, but more importantly, you need to know how to apply the content. You won’t get a question that will just test you on a number that you memorized. You’ll have to take that number you know and apply it to the situation you’re presented with. That is one of the reasons why answering NCLEX style questions is so important. Please don’t just answer the questions but work on reviewing the questions that you missed and find out why you missed it. Was it the question that threw you off, did you change the answer, or do you need to review the content some more.

The other piece of advice I would have is make a study plan and stick with it. Some days you won’t feel like studying anything, don’t fall in the trap into believing that you can forget it today and continue tomorrow. Just keep going. You can do it… one day you won’t have to think about the NCLEX test at all. I know that’s hard to believe, but it is the truth.

By the way if you need a plan template – you can find it here –
