June 2016 Update

We’ve been following 20 or so students who graduated in May. Fifteen of them have taken the NCLEX test. Among other things we asked them how many ‘math’ questions were on the test.

2 students – none
13 students – at least one math question
10 of those had one question
2 of those had at least 2
1 of them had more than 3

Types of Math questions they had on the test

Teaching patients how to take their meds
Titrating an insulin drip
Input and Output
Body Surface Area / Dosage question
From a label teaching a patient

The great thing about Math is when you learn how to work out a formula or procedure to do a problem (and practice) you’ll remember it. Think about when you were in grade school and learned your multiplication tables. Our math course includes explanations and plenty of examples.
